Designers - Oki Sato and His Invisible Chair

Picture yourself sitting on thin air. Resting while you float.
It's all possible with the transparent chair.

It's made with polyurethane film, commonly used as a packing material for precision instruments, thanks to its high elasticity and ability to return to its original state.
It softly wraps and supports the body, pretty much like a hammock does.

The amazing chair was designed by Oki Sato y made by his company, Nendo.
I love its simple lines and structure.

Also, from Nendo, I found another quite interesting chair.
Not invisible, but it seems to disappear.

Meet the fadeout chair.
I think it's pretty. And oh so lovely.

The chair's back and seat are wooden, and the acrylic legs are painted so that the wood grain appears to fade away.

Amazing.

White, Modern, Industrial Kitchen

I'm so in love with this kitchen from alltihemmet! The crisp white, the industrial lamps, shelves, and chairs, the great window in the first picture (I could totally picture the same idea with a large mirror), everything about it is so gorgeous!

Happy Tuesday!

DIY artwork

As I was going through my computer files, I found this project from design sponge I once saved. I LOVE it. I find it incredibly cute. Originally meant for Valentine's Day, I think it's perfect for any occasion, even as a Mother's Day gift (hint, hint). =) Plus, it's so easy! You can use anything from keys, buttons, vintage jewelry pieces, knick-knacks, etc. Spray-paint and hot-glue them to a fancy piece of paper, frame it, and you're all set!

So think twice the next time you're about to throw things away. You never know what you might be able to make with them!
Happy week, people!

Amazing Terrace

Hi there! How you doin'? I had the busiest, most unbearable day in months. Full non-stop. In these moments, I'm wishing for something like this all for myself.

 house to home

Oh, how I need this! What would I do here, you ask? Hmmmm, let's see. I guess I could  take a nap, read books, devour design magazines, and then have a mojito with my amorcito if I tried. Still, tomorrow (I should be saying today) is going to be just as yesterday, so I hope to recover this weekend. All I know for fact is we're using our brand new camera for the first time. I'm so excited!!!

What are you up to this weekend?

Fresh Ideas- Decorating With Flowers

Today I'd like to share with you a few ideas to decorate your home or office with flowers. Now that Spring has sprung, and the weather is getting warmer, the season has come to use the wide variety of flowers available everywhere. Simple, happy decor.

Cute flowers can make a huge impact on any table setting.
On the other hand, if you're giving flowers to someone, this is a great way to go, place them in a gift bag! You can do this for your home as well, but you should put a container inside so that you can put water for your flowers. =)

Now, you don't need large pots for flower arrangements. This is a very cute idea, and all they're using is a glass of water. Ribbons make it prettier.

And of course, there's the orchid, one of my favorites. This is a great idea for napking rings, but then again, this flower is somewhat expensive (at least it is here). So, I say, why not leave the orchid in its pot, nice and pretty, and use a less expensive option, such as roses or daisies. Just as good!

And for all of those having no real flowers around, no need to worry. Here's something for you. Take some fabric, or paper, with a flower pattern, and cut a flower out. Glue it to clothes pegs, and put a magnet for your fridge. It's a beautiful way to hang memos and notes. I like this idea as a way to put a card on gifts.

It's almost Friday, yay!
