Yellow and Gray Inspiration

I didn't use to like yellow - not for my home, my clothes or even my paintings. I tend to like cooler colors. And yet, I've seen the gray-yellow trend lately and I've got to confess, I love it. I find it quite pleasing, refreshing and balanced. Ranging from dark gray to the lightest one, yellow sparks here and there are the perfect mix to generate gorgeous rooms.

How do you like it?

Powder Blue

Gorgeous home of Jennifer López in California, via veranda

J.Lo's amazingly beautiful kitchen. veranda

One of my all-time favorite colors is blue. I love its range of tones, from deep, ocean blue, to aqua. While turquoise is still one of my top ranked, I've come to realize that for my home walls I like having a softer tone, one that doesn't steal attention from the decor, but instead, enhances it. And that's where Powder Blue comes handy. I love it. I even love its name. It is an idillic color because it combines blue's natural serenity with gray's neutrality. Plus, it looks amazing in any room!
Actually, I'm thinking about using powder blue for one of my rooms at home. Can you tell which one it is?
Hoping your week is going great!

Gorgeous home in Spanish Mediterranean

I have no words to describe this perfect home. I love how it's casual, open, with amazing views, and a great mix of rustic and modern. I'm also in love with all the textures. Just a perfect home for the weekend.

In other news, tomorrow I go back to my woodshop class... so excited!

Covet Garden

I'm so loving the latest issue of Covet Garden magazine. This time, they share the beautiful home of a creative couple, Tara and Terry, and it shows. I love its aesthetics, so clean, so liveable. I especially love the bookshelf and the bathroom! Although the furniture in their kitchen is lovely.

Something I love about Covet Garden is that they show real homes, not styled by interior decorators. It gives an insight on beautiful homes, and a much more personal style. It makes me remind myself that my dream home is possible.

All pics, by Covet Garden, of course.

On other stuff, I need your help! I'm planning changes on the blog's layout and design, so I'd really appreciate all comments and ideas that could help you like Casa Haus better.
Please share!

Have a beautiful day! =)

Eye Candy - Powder Room Inspiration

Because the tiniest room in the house is sometimes the one in most desperate need, I hope you will enjoy these hand-picked photos. I love these powder rooms because they are indeed small, and thus similar to what you and I might have in our own homes, and yet, they are stylish and gorgeous. There are all styles to choose from: modern, traditional, contemporary.

My favorite ones are definitely the ones with wood planks. I love the texture wood adds to the room, and I think it looks so original and different.
Special Trivia: Which of the above powder rooms belongs to an actor/actress from  Friends?

Homes - Gorgeous apartment in Manhattan

This gorgeous NYC apartment is like a dream to me. I love it's modern, sleek design with the neutral palette and splashes of color here and there. I guess what I love the most about it, is the amazing yet accesible style, and so easy to imitate at home. Wall decor, color, light, bathroom towels and curtain, I love it all!

Best of all? You can rent this Manhattan apartment for $210 us per night (not bad at all, considering it has two bedrooms and a great location). The property is listed in  Airbn, a global community of people renting properties, something like that Cameron Diaz film "The Holiday". One of my all-time favorites!

So, if you're interested and planning on a trip to NYC soon, you should definitely visit the listing here

Dreamy Bathtubs

As a girl, I had a built-in bathtub, and enjoyed delicious time there. Now that we got married and have a house of our own, there are no bathtubs around. We have been thinking of installing one in our bathroom because, though tiny, there's enough room for it --problem is, there's still no budget =) Who cares when we've got these gorgeous pics? The good thing about dreaming is, we don't even have to worry about spoiling the perfect wooden floors underneath ;)

Have you got your favorites yet? Mine are definitely the very two last ones. To die for.
