We Moved!

It's been such a long time since I had written in blogger. Sorry for leaving this blog behind, but I have been very busy moving to wordpress and working in my new and improved blog layout.

I decided to combine my Spanish and English versions in the same blog, since it was a lot of work keeping up with both. So, if you want to read my latest post and adventures, be sure to follow me in the new and improved Casa Haus. I'm writing in both English and Spanish, and there's also a Translate button in the top right end of the menu, just in case there's anything you don't understand. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

See you there!

Oh, and remember to follow me in pinterest, twitter and facebook as well!

Enlosocial's First Anniversary

I'm so excited to share with you the latest issue of Enlosocial, the luxury and lifestyle magazine for which I contribute with interior design and architecture articles.

This time, I'm talking about an amazing house in Somosaguas, bu Spanish firm A-Cero Arquitectos.

And then there's of course the deco-trends.

Brands include Casa Midy, Bodie and Fou and Karen Collignon.

This issue came with a great party, since Enlosocial is celebrating its first anniversary. The place:  Scuderia bistro-bar. One of my personal favorites.

So it was a good night, and I feel blessed to be part of it all. Congratulations to Enlosocial!

By the way, we're excited because Enlosocial goes national, starting with Mexico City, Monterrey and Mayan Riviera, besides Guadalajara. However, for all of you outside of Mexico, you can visit Enlosocial's profile in Facebook, where you can even check out complete issues, such as the last one. You can find your way to my collaboration. =)

Have a gorgeous day!

Time Tellers (and News)

To wrap up the week and get ready for the long weekend, I thought I'd share these gorgeous monthly calendars by  Pattern Matters. They're hand-made, and each is a unique surprise. You should definitely take a look at them. They have pictures of the making process. Really good!

-------------------------------------------------
Now for the news. Today was a very long, but exciting day for me. I went wood shopping! This is actually the first time for me, so it was quite an adventure (even more if you add rain to it). My next carpentry project is small, but it will be my first solo. Tons of things to learn!.

So, in case you're wondering, it's a beautiful maple wood, and I'm doing something for my kitchen. (My daughter tells me I should finish my previous projects before I get to the next ones, and she's probably right, BUT this is something for my class, and we are still stuck in the painting process, so, I'm ready to put my hands onto something).

I'm hoping to have a productive weekend but one never knows. Guess I'll have to see.
A great weekend to y'all!

Before and After

Hi y'all!
I'd like to show you my newest "Before and After"

It's not about any room, though. It's all about me!

Normally I don't speak about myself, but today I'm happy about my new haircut, and I want to share it with you.

In this last year, I've had 3 different styles (which are far too many for me):

1. Really long and curly.

2. Short and curly.

3. Now: short and straight! (ok, that's just for today, let's see how it turns out when I get it wet!)

What do you think?

A Little Something

My computer is so slow, I'm about to do this:

Really. I can't work with it.
I haven't been able to post as often as I would want to.
It's frustrating!

Problem is, there's no solution to it. Our lap top is old :(

Come to think of it, there is a solution. Buy ourselves a new one!

Perhaps a little something like this?
Am I dreaming too much, hubs? ;)

Tough Day

Today has been a tough day. It started with tons of work at the office, followed by rushing in between hours- all. day. long. But the worst came when my daughter got sick near the end of the day. :(  Boy does it feel bad to see your kids in pain.

So she's in bed now, finally sleeping. I just hope she can get good rest.

Best of 2009

Happy New Year, friends!!!
I'm so excited to be starting off a new year. 2010.
Amazing, huh?

I hope y'all had a wonderful time last night, and wish you the best in 2010.

I'm starting this new year by doing a tiny little recap on last year, for those new to Casa Haus or those who would like to walk with me down Memory Lane.

2009 was an excellent year for us. We had just gotten married in August 2008, so 2009 meant settling down and arranging our little house to make it feel like home. As I started looking through the internet for inspiration, I bumped into the bloggosphere, and man, did that change me (for good, I hope). I suddenly realized I wasn't the only crazy woman thinking about her home and her decoration 24/7. That felt amazing!!!! I actually got to know more people like me, and so I let my obsession loose. House-aholic. Design-aholic. Yay!

However, that wasn't enough, so in early November I decided to start my own blog, the good ol' little Casa Haus. A place meant for you to find good design, inspiration, home decor, and a journal for my adventures making our house our home while doing everything else (you know, work, exercise, housekeeping, kid, you name it). I couln't have started off in a busier time of year, so blogging, my friends, has become one truly wonderful journey.

So, best of 2009.

Since I started blogging in November, my projects so far have revolved around the holidays. I begun by introducing you to our Halloween home.

Those decorations were so fun and easy to make. We loved them!

I showed you the beautiful twirly scarves I had made for the chilly weather. And of course, I posted on the lovely heart too.

Then Christmas time came fast.

I made a pine cone wreath, and got really excited when Centsational Girl featured it.

I made easy snowflake ornaments for our tree.

And a bunch of other last minute decorations.

In the end, our Christmas House looked cute!

And of course, there was time for easy and yummy recipes, too.

The tasty hot punch (in a cappuccino cup).

And the refreshing red wine punch.

And of course, there was time to feature some great interior design inspirations and eye candy.

What an excellent year!

What were your best experiences 2009 left you? What are your expectations for 2010?
Do share!

sharing with Melissa for Best of 2009

All I want for Christmas

Sometimes I wish I had more time. Not money. Not stuff. Just time.

I started this blog because I had (and still have) plenty of plans for my home. I've done a few changes, but there is sooooo much to be done. I wanted to share my inspiration, my projects, my small steps into transforming it into my shelter, in spite of it all.

Well, one of the major challenges I've been facing is the lack of time.

Sometimes this makes me feel so frustrated, because I have lots of ideas, but I simply can't get them done.

And now, this time of year brings me more challenges. My day job is business management and accounting. You should have an idea of what that means this time of year.

My little princess has just recently decided to go and sign up for a sport team, which means hard training daily. That thing alone changed our whole family weekly schedule. And it also gave her little time for homework and other activities. I'm very proud of her, but it's been hard work for all of us.

And then there's this time of year. Which I love. I can see my fellow blogmates blogging about their holiday decorations (which are fabulous, by the way) and I haven't been able to make mine. =(

So all I want for Christmas is time.

Time to share with loved ones.

Time to do the things I enjoy the most.

Time to get organized for next year.
